How Oxygen Pressure Swing Absorption Generators work
Oxygen Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Generators function by harnessing the composition of air, which consists of 21% Oxygen, 78% Nitrogen, 0.9% Argon, and 0.1% other trace gases. The advanced technology employed in Hi-Tech Oxygen generation systems employs a unique process known as Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) to separate and extract oxygen from compressed air.
In the PSA process, a synthetic Zeolite Molecular Sieve plays a pivotal role in selectively absorbing nitrogen from the compressed air. As the air passes through one of the absorbers containing the NEWTEK Molecular sieve, nitrogen is adsorbed, concentrating in the Zeolite's pore system. Simultaneously, the remaining oxygen passes through the absorber, emerging as the final product gas.
The system utilizes dual absorbers for continuous operation. When one absorber becomes saturated with nitrogen, the inlet airflow is seamlessly switched to the second absorber. The first absorber undergoes a regeneration phase, where nitrogen is desorbed through depressurization, and the absorber is purged with a portion of the produced oxygen. This cyclic process ensures a constant oscillation between higher pressure during adsorption (production) and lower pressure during desorption (regeneration).
The entire PSA process is intelligently managed through automated valves and a Siemens Make Pre-Programmed PLC (Programmable Logic Controller).
