Adsorption stage:

Compressed air (usually containing nitrogen and oxygen) is introduced into the PSA nitrogen unit through a compressor.
Air enters the adsorber, which is filled with an adsorbent, usually a special molecular sieve (a type of molecular sieve, such as a zeolite).
On the adsorbent, there is a difference in adsorption affinity between oxygen molecules and nitrogen molecules. The adsorbent adsorbs oxygen more strongly and adsorbs nitrogen relatively weakly.
Desorption stage:

When the adsorber reaches saturation, the system releases compressed air by adjusting the pressure, thereby reducing the pressure on the adsorbent.
Reducing the pressure weakens the ability of the adsorbent to adsorb oxygen, causing oxygen to desorb from the adsorbent.
The released gas is removed from the system, leaving behind a nitrogen-rich sorbent.
Regeneration stage:

When one adsorber is working, the other adsorber is regenerated at the same time.
By regulating system pressure, regeneration gas (usually a small portion of previously produced nitrogen) is introduced into the adsorber being regenerated.
In this way, the oxygen on the adsorbent is desorbed and the adsorbent is regenerated and ready for the next adsorption stage.
By alternating adsorption, desorption and regeneration stages, the PSA nitrogen plant is able to continuously produce high-purity nitrogen. The flexibility and efficiency of this technology make it widely used in industry.
