2. Principle of PSA nitrogen generator for mining

Oxygen (O₂) and nitrogen (N₂) are both non-polar molecules, and their kinetic diameters and boiling points are very close. Although carbon molecular sieve has a microporous structure, it is difficult to separate oxygen and nitrogen because of the steric effect that causes co-adsorption of O₂ and N₂ during static atmospheric pressure adsorption. However, carbon molecular sieve is a velocity separation adsorbent, and there is a difference in the diffusion rate of O₂ and N₂ on its surface. The kinetic diameter of O₂ is smaller than that of N₂, which makes O₂ diffuse faster on the surface of carbon molecular sieve and can be adsorbed preferentially, while N₂ is not adsorbed and thus enriched. 3. Process flow of PSA nitrogen generator for mining
The compressed and purified air enters the adsorption tower filled with carbon molecular sieve (CMS). When compressed air flows through the adsorption tower, oxygen molecules are adsorbed by the carbon molecular sieve, and nitrogen is enriched in the non-adsorbed phase, flowing out from one end of the adsorption tower and entering the N₂ storage tank. After a period of time, the oxygen adsorbed by the carbon molecular sieve in the adsorption tower reaches saturation, and regeneration is required at this time. Usually, the two adsorption towers alternately perform adsorption and regeneration operations to ensure the continuous output of nitrogen.
