How 99% psa industrial oxygen generators work

99% PSA industrial oxygen generators (Pressure Swing Adsorption) use a highly efficient separation technology to extract oxygen from atmospheric air.

Air Compression: First, the air is compressed and treated by a compressor to remove moisture and impurities, ensuring that the air entering the system is clean.

Pressure Swing Adsorption Process:

The treated compressed air is fed into two towers filled with molecular sieves. These molecular sieves (usually synthetic zeolites) have a strong adsorption capacity for nitrogen, while oxygen is relatively difficult to adsorb.
In the first tower, nitrogen from the air is adsorbed, leaving 95% oxygen as the initial product. At this point, the nitrogen is discharged to the outside.

Secondary treatment:

The 95% oxygen is then sent to the second tower to further remove residual nitrogen and argon to increase the purity of the oxygen to 99%.

This process may also include an oxygen pressurization stage to ensure that the final product is available at the required pressure.

Storage and distribution: The final 99% pure oxygen is stored in gas cylinders and is ready to be supplied to applications that require high purity oxygen, such as medical and industrial uses.
